| | willpies mate, broncos this year are like west coast. were a dominant side, making finals and grand finals, however have lost khunt, taylor, hodges. 3 of their most creative forces. just like when coast lost judd and cousins, they started to fade. yes they will be better at home, but still got touched up by average to ok sides at their home ground. broncos travelling this year will be very bad, just like coast.
lockyer is done and dusted and wallace is servicable. not much else doing. folau needs to rediscover his attacking flair, if he ever had any

| | On first look I too was going to jump all over Valencia at home in the Mestalla against the near bottom team Racing but ...
In the last four seasons, Racing have picked up three wins and a draw at the Mestalla, not including the Copa del Rey game there that finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and Valencia beat them in extra-time.
Add to that Valencia has to re shape their defense because of red cards and you see there is a potential problem for the bats.
Sure Valencia are motivated to increase their lead over Sevilla for third place for a Champions League spot but Racing also has strong motivation to gain points since they only sit 5 points from safety. Plus Sevilla play host to Werder Bremen in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie on Thursday before traveling to reigning Primera Division champions Barcelona on Sunday so they could have one eye looking forward.
I like the draw and though Racing are in very poor form they could win this game so my best pick here is the racing +1

| | Liverpool may well win the game but at these opening odds, no thanks. This is very much one to play in running. Who knows what sort of performance we can expect from them as they haven't been the model of consistency so far this season. The last time Liverpool picked up a win away in the league was back in December at Villa. Hopefully Wigan can hang on until about half time and maybe I'll take a piece of Liverpool just over evens but the opening price is a joke even given the current form of Wigan.

| | Francis Gillot’s Sochaux side need to do just a little more to ensure their safety in Ligue 1 and will be aiming to take decisive action against inconsistent Toulouse at home.
Les Lionceaux have struggled a little in recent times, managing only one Championnat win since the turn of the year, though they do remain in the Coupe de France. Goals have been especially hard for the Doubs side to come by, with only one goal scored throughout February and only four netted since the turn of the year in league football in total.
American striker Charlie Davies remains sidelined, while regular midfielder Marvin Martin is a doubt.
Toulouse captain Mauro Cetto is hoping three points at Sochaux tomorrow will be the trigger for a strong finish to the season.Toulouse are 11th in the Ligue 1 table and currently well adrift of the spots which would result in a Europa League spot in 2010/11.But Cetto refuses to believe his side cannot make it - although he accepts it is a long shot.
Toulouse have had goal scoring issues of their own, with their offence looking impotent for long spells during their 1-0 victory over Lens last weekend. Substitute Kevin Dupuis was the match-winner, and he may be rewarded for his efforts with a starting berth.
Andre-Pierre Gignac is working his way towards fitness, but it will be next week before he returns. Second choice goalkeeper Olivier Blondel is pencilled in for the reserves after returning to training after injury.

Lens’ good run of form came to an end last Saturday evening, when they were frustrated to a 1-0 defeat in Toulouse, and Jean-Guy Wallemme will hope for an improved performance against a PSG side who are in the midst of a great crisis.
Les Sang et Or looked solid at the back as they ultimately slipped to a defeat against le Tefece, and they will certainly take heart from that approaching Saturday’s game.
More will be asked of an impotent front line, though. Illness as opposed to injury is the biggest threat to Lens personnel, with gastric flu gripping a couple of first team members this week. Only Sebastien Roudet is considered doubtful though.

| | Neither Nice nor Nancy have been going well in recent times, though both will have pinpointed Saturday’s fixture as a fine opportunity to make a move up the league standings.
Nice currently lie just one place above the relegation zone, but they are six points ahead of 18th-placed Le Mans, who have a game in hand.
Nancy are not completely out of the relegation picture themselves, lying 14th in the table with a margin of 12 points between them and the drop zone.
Les Aiglons will be without former PSG defender Larrys Mabiala for approximately a month after he picked up a problem last weekend, though they are otherwise in a strong position on the selection front.

| | Monaco coach Guy Lacombe travels back to the home of former club Rennes for the first time since leaving the Breton club in fairly acrimonious circumstances over the summer, setting the scene for what should be an exciting encounter between two very capable clubs.
Rennes have lost their past three league games as well as crashing out the Coupe de France to amateurs Quevilly, and have slipped to 10th in the Ligue 1 standings.
Capable Rennes may be, but under former Nice boss Frederic Antonetti they are nowhere near as stable as they once were under the forthright figure of Lacombe. In recent weeks they’ve juxtaposed the high of beating champion Girondins de Bordeaux with the low of losing to minnows Quevilly in the Coupe de France.
Kader Mangane and Asamoah Gyan are suspended for Rennes and should be replaced by Rod Fanni and Jimmy Briand.
Les Monegasques have also been frustratingly inconsistent this season. While they were untouchable in January, they were disappointing in February, with last weekend’s 1-0 success at home against Boulogne at least allowing them to finish the month on a high.
Definitely out is the suspended Lukman Haruna, while Park Chu-Young is hopeful of returning to the first team.

| | Defeat after defeat has followed for Boulogne in recent times, and they won’t be especially hopeful of their luck changing when they tackle in-form Lyon at the weekend.
Lyon boss Claude Puel has told his players to forget about their international sides and get their minds back on Ligue 1.
Preparations for tomorrow's trip to Boulogne have been hampered by the international break, though, as Puel as seen his players flung far and wide.
Salvation for the hosts may come from the fact that Lyon have a vital Champions League encounter against Real Madrid to consider next week. Gones general manager Claude Puelfrequently omits some of his best players before such vital matches, so USBCO may not have to face the very elite of the Lyon side. Cesar Delgado is back training fully and is ready to play though.
While Lyon were beating Nice 2-0 last weekend, Boulogne were falling to a 1-0 defeat at Monaco.
Even a reserve OL side should be strong enough to defeat the Stade de la Liberation outfit, who continue to be absolutely riddled with injuries. Even Gregory Thil, who recently overcame a serious ankle injury, has found himself back on the treatment table lately due to a relapse. The problems are especially acute in attack, which explains why goals are so hard to find. Alexandre Cuvillier, their outstanding player of the season, is reportedly being tracked by Auxerre.

Dallas have been outscored 11-2 in two losing games after the Olympic Break and will have Kari Lehtonen in net,who was a cquired from the Thrashers and hadn't played since April 14 last year until he took the ice in relief of Marty Turco in the ugly 1-6 loss at home against The Blues in the team's last game,witch saw the Dallas franchise goalie turning aside only 7 of 11 shots.

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off an emotionally draining game in Miami last night on TNT Thursday Night Basketball and now less than 24 hours later they have to face a fresh Charlotte team that has played pretty damn good basketball this season. I watched most of the game and even though Kobe was the only reason that team was even close to the Heat, the Lakers still lost and I find it tough for them to bounce back in this game. Pau Gasol and Ron Artest managed only 10 points each and that's not good enough for this team. The Lakers shoot the ball well on the road but their perimeter shooting has not been good this season away from home. Rebounds have also been an issue for this Lakers team as they have allowed opposing teams to grab 42.6 rebounds per game on the road and against a good team like the Bobcats (good rebounding team), that could be an issue. I think it should also be a concern that the Lakers bench averages only 24.1 points per road game this season which is about 6.4 points less than the NBA average for bench points. Charlotte is very aggressive defensively and they are going to bother the Lakers with their 14.9 forced turnovers per home game this season. As long as the Bobcats continue to allow home opponents to shoot only 28.9% from three point range, they should keep this game close.
The Charlotte Bobcats are struggling lately but this is probably a stepping stone game for them because it shows what kind of chances they have in the NBA playoffs should they make it there. I mean everyone gets excited about playing against the Lakers and the fans, including Michael Jordan, probably want this game more than most other home games this season. The Bobcats have won only one of their last six games, they lost to Dallas at home earlier this week and I think they miss Tyson Chandler a lot more than most people realize. Having said that, I think this is a good matchup for them and they almost always get excited to play the Lakers. Charlotte has taken a lot of heat for the way they have played in recent weeks and their shooting at home has not been all that good anyways. Having said that, they get to the free throw line 27.2 times per home game this season and they have shot 76.1% from the free throw line in those games. The key for me in this game is going to be the guard play of both teams because they match up quite well offensively but defensively the Lakers have struggled to stop opponents like Charlotte allowing 21.8 assists per away game and forcing only 13.0 turnovers per road game. The Bobcats no doubt come to play tonight, should be a good one.
For those of you backing the Lakers in this game, please tell me what happened the last time they were in Charlotte? That's right...the Bobcats won by 10 points and Kobe was held to only 25 points in the game. Sure this is a different season but the Bobcats are a lot better than they were in 2008-2009 and they have almost always had success at home against the Lakers beating them at home in the 2005-2006 season and 2006-2007 season as well. In the 2004-2005 season the Bobcats lost their home game against the Lakers by one point so again they always play the Lake Show well with Jordan in attendance of course. The Underdog has covered the spread in four straight in this series and that means Charlotte is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings. The Lakers play a lot on Thursday Night Basketball and they have paid the price for it going only 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games played on a Friday Night. The Lakers are also 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 road games versus a home team with a straight up winning home record on the season and they are only 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. Why back a team that is struggling? Charlotte is 5-1 ATS in their last six games coming off a game where they allow 100+ points the game before and they are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games versus NBA Pacific Division opponents. Wow. I have to go with Charlotte tonight, the Lakers are struggling big time.

I did at odds 2.16 in the morning, basically clear fav, the home tea, the best home record in German top three divisions (10W 2D 0L), practically full squad available only without the skipper BUT the top forward recovered from injury, Furth can only be in 1. Bundesliga in their drunken dreams, while the hosts are living a dream after only being in 3. Bundesliga last season.
At the moment hosts in 4th place, but a win today in front of a sellout crowd can close the gap between the second place (top three advance to a top tier). Some injuries in away team, who won't have that extra motivation that the hosts will have. To sum up, fantastic odds, get on quick, you can back 1dnb very large too (odds would be around 1.45 tops, remember no loss in 12 games for Fortuna Dusseldorf).

The Stormers will be keen to bounce back after a heartbreaking late home loss to the Brumbies last week. The return of talismanic captain Schalk Burger will add further grunt to the pack. The unchanged Highlanders, who start the round four places and as many points behind the Stormers, have lost the last two clashes between the teams but are coming off a victory over the Cheetahs last week. Successive wins in South Africa would be very handy for the Highlanders prior to next week's clash with the Bulls but the Stormers' desperation to avoid consecutive home defeats could just give them the edge.

| | WELLINGTON, March 4 NZPA - The Highlanders will field an unchanged starting line-up to face the Stormers in their Super 14 rugby match at Cape Town on Saturday.
With no injuries to contend with, coach Glenn Moore has rewarded the men who forged a hard-fought 31-24 defeat of the Cheetahs last weekend, their first win of the season.
The only change comes on the bench, where Bronson Murray has been named ahead of Chris King as reserve prop.
Despite Mat Berquist's return to fitness, Moore is persisting with Michael Hobbs at five-eighth, the surprise packet of their early-season efforts crossing at Bloemfontein last weekend to record a fourth try in three matches.
Kenny Lynn and Jason Shoemark are retained in the midfield, meaning no room again for Taranaki inside centre Jayden Hawyard.

| | One of the better value bets this weekend - Canes are down on troops but this is still a match they'll count on winning.
A weakened Canes side is still a tougher proposition than the Highlanders. (who beat the Cheetahs last weekend).
Canes have a lot of points in them - same can't be said for the Cheetahs though they'll fight to the end - like the Highlanders they're a side to be admired.

The Stormers get back Berger which will be a key factor at the breakdown.
The Stormers will be stung by their two point loss to the Brumbies last weekend and will be ready for whatever the Highlanders can throw at them.
Unfortunately for the Highlanders that's not a lot - they're a decent,
hard-working side that never gives up and I have the utmost admiration for them, but they are a limited side which relies too much on Cowan and Thompson.
The Brumbies asked lots of questions of the Stormers's defence but the Highlanders don't have the firepower or multiple points of attack to do so.
In a weekend where value is hard to find this is it.
